Random Acts of Kindness that touch lives!

The Ultimate Random Act Of Kindness: Authors Replace Little Girl’s Lost Book Collection

7 April 2016

Random act of kindness. Authors and illustrators have stepped in to replace a little girl’s book collection that was destroyed in a fire [Photo: Parma Elementary School]

What would you save in a fire? For Heidi VanSumeren it would have been her books. The age old question many of us ponder but hope we’ll never have to actually face became a horrible reality for Heidi on March 17 when a fire ripped through her family’s Michigan home destroying her beloved book collection.

When Heidi didn’t have her nose in a book the eight-year-old was creating and designing mini tomes of her own, but much to her distress all her supplies and reading materials were destroyed in last month’s fire.

“There in the middle of all that panic of the fire when she was crying, I just kept telling her it would be okay,” Heidi’s mum told MLive.com. And thankfully thanks to a random act of kindness, it was.

A children’s author and illustrator, Bob Shea, who’d met Heidi on a visit to her school, heard what had happened and turned to Twitter to ask his fellow authors to help replace Heidi’s beloved collection.

“A little girl had her house burn down THIS PAST MONDAY. Her name is Heidi,” he wrote. “She lost all her books. Let’s send her some.”

“Heidi was most upset about losing a writing desk, her books and school supplies. If that doesn’t get you, you’re made of stone,” he added.

Within days books, a desk, a chair, bookshelves and new art supplies started arriving at Heidi’s primary school.

“We ended up with three backpacks and three big totes full of books,” explained Heidi’s mum, Beth. “She loves looking at every book because a lot of the authors signed them or wrote a message for her inside.”

Heidi’s mum went on to explain that the little girl uses books to cope with difficult things like the recent death of her older sister, Avery, who was severely multiply impaired and died at age 11 last year.

“Books are really special for her,” she told Good Morning America. “We can talk to her and try to explain but when she can read it on her own whenever she’s sad and needs help, that’s always been an easier way for her to understand things.”

If that story doesn’t make you feel all warm and fuzzy on a wet Wednesday we don’t know what will.

Picture Of Mum Tandem Breastfeeding Her Daughters Goes Viral!!

6 April 2016

A photo of a mother tandem breastfeeding her two daughters has made a splash online [Photo: Mae Burke]

When Chelsea Craig hired a photographer to capture some precious family moments, she had no idea that one of the pictures would end up going viral.

During the shoot, Chelsea’s eldest daughter, Addy, 3 started getting hungry, so the mum-of-two decided to quickly feed her so they could continue. But her 16-month-old daughter, Emmilyn wanted to be fed too, so Chelsea nursed them both together.

Photographer Mae Burke, who specialises in breastfeeding pictures, decided to capture the ‘tandem breastfeeding’ moment and the picture has since been shared online.

The poignant moment was captured by photographer Mae Burke [Photo: Mae Burke]

But Chelsea insists she wasn’t trying to make a statement with the image and doesn’t consider herself a breastfeeding ‘activist’.

“I’m very confident in the decision that this is what’s right for us,” she told People. “I consider myself a supporter of women’s rights and the choices that we make as mums. For some, that’s breastfeeding until the kid is 7, for some that’s breastfeeding until the kid is 2 weeks, for some it’s not breastfeeding at all, and that’s okay with me.”

Explaining that she hadn’t expected to breastfeed Addy for more than a year, Chelsea also added that she is letting her daughter decide when she is ready to stop.

“I don’t know how much longer the journey will be,” she said. “I thought I knew three years ago, but I didn’t.”

The shots come as another mother experienced negativity for sharing professional shots of her breastfeeding her two children in a milk bath on Facebook.

People commented on Kassondra Coxson weight and the fact that she was sharing her breastfeeding photos “so publicly”.

Is it still easy to get rich quick!!

How One 64-Year Old Man Grew His $1,500 Savings Into $2.7 Million Fortune

Can a regular person, with no investment experience make a $2.7 million fortune with only a $1,500 investment? Or is being already rich and connected like Hedge Fund managers and Wall Street bankers the only way to amass a fortune on the stock market?

That’s a question millions of honest, hardworking people like you have been asking themselves.

About three years ago Ben Ivy decided to take matters in his own hands and invested his life savings of $1,500 on his own. Today the 62-year-old’s portfolio is worth more than $2.7 million dollars. How did he do it?

When asked about his success, new millionaire Ben revealed “I didn’t get rich by buying and selling stocks of well-known companies like Apple or Ford. I certainly did not have a lot of money to start either.”

Instead Ben became successful using something called The Conservative Investorsystem, a secret software tool that exploits loopholes in Wall Street’s inefficient marketplace.

So is it possible for others do duplicate his success?

“Absolutely” Ben exclaimed. “The Conservative Investor system is so easy, my 88 year old grandma is using it to make several thousand dollars in profits each month.”

Ben built the tool himself, painstakingly testing it for over three years before releasing it to the public, absolutely free. As he put it “It’s time for the little guy to have a fair chance at the American Dream. That is why I’m giving away my Honest Investor system to average investors absolutely free”

So what’s next for Ben now that he’s hit the $2.7 million mark? He plans to continue investing with his The Conservative Investor system for at least another year before taking time off to travel with his wife.

Ben exclaimed “If people want the software they better act soon and get in touch with me. I’m already making travel arrangements for my retirement from investing.”

What is life about

If you really what to know what poverty is, ask someone from one of the poorest countries in the world. They live and survive on FAITH, no free health care, No Social Security , life is survival of the fittest. What is your excuse for failure if you have all the resources you need and you are living in a developed country!.

The Story of My Life!!!

In December 2002, just after moving out of a women’s refugee sheltered accommodation. I was all alone with my 10 months old baby. I could not afford nappies or a drink. People back home in Zim were talking; she has forgotten us, now that she is enjoying life in the UK; not knowing, I was sinking down low in poverty, surviving on cups of tea and dry bread. I had my last £35 which I chose to sent home to feed my 3 children and 10 children from siblings who had perished from HIV and Aids. I chose to buy a loaf of bread for £1 and milk for 50p to see me through the week. From that day I realised that Christmas is just another day and there is nothing special about it!!. I had no-one to call or share my ordeal with; as you all know that when things are tough friends are few, when life is blossoming friends are many. The thought of being alone without my family, put me off celebrating Christmas. It was at Christmas eve when I had a surprise knock on my front door in Colchester. I opened the door, and there was a strange Englishman, with a box full of goodies for me. I had never met him before. Since, it was cold, I invited him into the house and I talked to him on the hall way. He told me that he had heard someone talking about me from The Salvation Army; that there is a lady with a 10 months old baby down the street, who is all alone and could do with some help. He handed over the box to me and some cash. The gentleman then told me that his name was Mr Smith a multi-millionaire who lives in countryside of Colchester UK. I could not open my mouth to thank him, but broke down and bursted into a very loud cry. He has been my best friend since that day. SO, WHEN IT IS CHRISTMAS TIME I ALWAYS REFLECT ON 24/12/02; and think of all other people who can’t afford. I need to help someone. I GIVE; NOT BECAUSE I HAVE LOADS TO GIVE; BUT BECAUSE, I KNOW WHAT IT IS LIKE TO BE WITHOUT!!! Inbox details of someone who is all alone and without, this Christmas. May God bless you all!!! @ Betha Bauleni thank you for being there for me in 2002 when I was at my lowest point, and Mr Sweet Smith, may God continue adding more to you!!
